![]() Two years ago, they rocked Cannes with the heist-gone-wrong thriller “Good Time,” starring a mesmerizing Robert Pattinson. The New York-based indie filmmaker brothers are masters of a certain type of adrenalized, immersive storytelling that puts us up close with characters whose default mode is desperation. “But obviously now because of Uncut Gems, those doors have swung wide open.If you’re looking for cinematic tour guides to the road to ruin, you can’t do much better than Josh and Benny Safdie. “I just have a lot of scripts and hopefully I can get the ball rolling,” Fox said. She recently signed with Hollywood talent agency WME and has got her eyes set on writing, directing, and producing. When asked what’s next, Fox noted that for now, her world is basically all Uncut Gems, all the time. Uncut Gems will debut with a limited release on Friday before going wide on December 25. Everyone on set was amazed by the basketball player’s acting chops, Fox said-to which he replied, “I’ve taken direction my whole life.” He even called the Safdie brothers “coach.” “We became really good friends.” Garnett’s part, in particular, is a strange form of self-parody his character is a bit of an oddball who becomes completely obsessed with the black opal at the film’s center.
